Whoever told me that pain is temporary lied! The burn in my muscles is still there, granted it’s nowhere near what it was the first week but still. What is true is that weight training is, well for lack of a better word, just plain hard! However I’ve discovered, to my great surprise, that it gets more bearable the more you do it. That is until you tell your trainer and she just keeps adding more weight *argh!* I might just have to start lying to her and making the struggle to lift the weights look convincing, alas I fear she knows every trick in the book!
So today we sign-in with a pencil, as there were no pens in sight today at the trainer’s counter. I jokingly ask if I should bring my own pen next time, and RubySlippers says “Don’t judge! I’ve got a bunch in my locker I just forget them sometimes”. Hahaha! Yeah I’d say like all the time! She frowns, then laughs she knows it’s true. I ask if we should just sign-in at her locker, to avoid the missing pen thing. My suggestion is met with a “No smartass we shouldn’t, what we should do is get to it!” Pen or pencil, as we march down the hallway to the women’s only area, I know there’s no stopping the inevitable workout.
On Today’s Menu:
- Chest Press
- Lat Pulldowns
- Back ext
- Seated Rows
- Dead Lifts
- Leg Curls
- Face Pulls
- One Arm Swings
- Push-ups (Yes, knee ones, but soon I’ll be able to lift up my full weight, I’ve been practicing)
- Core beating on the mat and at the cable machine
- Much more fun was had, but my arms feel so heavy I can no longer type, must get Dragon Dictation and a massage, at this point maybe just the massage.

Note to self: Next session try showing pictures of said puppy during workout, this might just distract RubySlippers enough to lose count of reps or add more weight. Rethink plan as it may backfire and end up doing more reps…

Note to You: If I can do it, why can’t you? Don’t say you’ll start later or tomorrow, just get up and get moving! Do a plank, go for a walk, do a few lunges or squats, it’s a start, it’s your choice really so do the right thing, get busy getting stronger!
