Edge Walk

Edge Walk

We all need some fun in our lives, so get out there and live a little! Living or walking on the edge doesn’t mean being a daredevil like the guy in my photo (look closely he’s up there). But it does mean stepping out of your comfort zone and/or being a little silly from time to time, just for the fun of it! So give it a try, AG & I have & we’re just getting started! Just to give you an idea, here are a few of the crazy things we’ve been up to in the past year or so:

  • Joined The Athletic Club
  • Started going to Zumba
  • Danced @ said Zumba classes
  • Moved to the front of the class
  • Wore mismatched socks (because I swear the goat from Narnia takes them from my washer & dryer)
  • Personal Training Session with RubySlippers (not for the faint of heart)
  • Started a blog
  • Trained leg day with RubySlippers before AG’s engagement party (why???)
  • Made new friends (who don’t notice I’m olive skinned & still believe I’ll ever be able to get #WhiteGirlWasted with them)
  • Sat through the dreadful Moonrise Kingdom (THE HORROR, THE HORROR!!!)
  • Tested Siri in NYC, DC and a few places in between (We got lost each time)
  • Trusted Siri’s navigational skills again in TO (because I never learn, again lost)
  • Followed Siri’s directions down what turned out to be a deserted dead-end children of the corn looking road…so not the beach
  • Road trip to a new beach (Siri got us lost again, but we found it)
  • Spent an afternoon at the beach sans the shade of my usual beach umbrella (with plenty of SPF 100 sunscreen, of course)
  • Tried new food on the beach
  • Lost track of time and returned to our car a whole minute after our parking time expired
  • Hit the driving range regardless of huge black clouds of impending doom (totally extreme I know!)
  • Braved a crowded McD counter to exchange a Happy Meal toy (gotta have all those minions!)
  • Ate fries twice in a week, with mayo! (wild!)
  • Used coupons to get free stuff!
  • Brushed my teeth, got ready for bed, remembered it was Sunday, got right back up and ate an Oreo (okay, so I may have had 2 or 3 more after that one)
  • Jumped in a puddle on my way back home from the gym
  • Crossed the street with 10 seconds remaining on the counter (yes, I jogged/ran the last few seconds)
  • Swam with dolphins
  • Jumped on the hotel bed (No, I’m not five, six and half maybe, but not five LOL)
  • Wore a bikini on the beach (All jokes aside this was not easy, 1st time ever!)
  • Held an iguana on my shoulder
  • Ventured into Twitterverse @Imacookiefiend

As you can see they’re just a lot of silly things and fun little adventures we share with friends and family & sometimes random strangers at the gym.  Still, it’s all these little things that bring joy to life…except when it comes to bite-size candy because those totally don’t.  So keep in mind that living on the edge from time to time is different for everyone and you don’t necessarily have to rappel from helicopters to be extreme, although you can, if you want to.  But seriously do you?  If you do, then by all means share your story with us so we can all live safely and vicariously through you 🙂  Really in the end what matters is that you balance things out, because you know what they say about all work and no play…

Live a little, and if you’re feeling adventurous then share your living on the edge experiences with us, and give us some new safe ideas for our upcoming days off.  If we like them we might just give them a try…right AG?
